Grief Notes
Grief is a process and unique to the person who is experiencing it. Give yourself permission to take as much time as you need to grieve your loss. Let your family and friends know what you need from them. They cannot read your mind. Remember they want to help you, but are uncertain as to how to provide the support and help you need.
Set boundaries and expectations for yourself and others. Avoid making major decisions right after the loss of a loved one. Give yourself time to determine the impact of the loss on your emotional and mental health. The loss may cause a person to make unwise choices due to their thought process being clouded by their grief.
Anger and depression are part of the grieving process. Some people experience being angry with God. God is Big enough to handle you being angry with Him and waits patiently as you work out your emotions. Always there to comfort you, when you are ready to accept His comfort and peace.
If you feel overwhelmed by anger and depression seek help. There are grief support groups such as Griefshare available on line and in most cities and towns this group meets in local churches mainly. Also local hospices offer grief support. Here are some on line grief support options: Grieving.com, Grief in Common, Hope Again, Grief Anonymous, Online Grief Support, Griefnet and Grief Healing.
